- The Global Business Practices Wiki is the new home of the country specific E-business Profiles developed by the PIDX Global Business Practices Work Group.
What is the purpose of the Global Business Practices Work Group?
- The goal of the Global Business Practices Work Group is to develop and document best practices for global e-Commerce in the Oil & Gas industry.
- The genesis of the Global Business Practices Work Group was the desire to understand the challenges encountered while implementing e-Commerce in the global marketplace. These challenges include variations in legal, fiscal and business practices between countries.
- The Global Business Practices Work Group captures, aggregates and publishes country-specific best practices and information provided by PIDX standards practitioners in the form of country specific E-business Profiles.
Who Manages the Global Business Practices Wiki?
- The Global Business Practices Work Group of the PIDX Standards and Guideines Subcommittee has ultimate responsibility for the content and layout of the country specific E-business Profiles.
- PIDX owns the content and is entitled to administer it to meet the needs of PIDX member organizations. The American Petroleum Institute (API), as host organization for PIDX, holds the copyright of the content. Access and use of the definitions is available to all without restriction.
- The wiki platform that the Global Business Practices Wiki support system runs on is maintained by PIDX staff.
What's Read-Only and What's Updatable?
- Anyone can propose a change to the country specific E-business Profiles. This includes both PIDX members and non-members.
- However, only authorized individuals can update profile entries, following policies and guidelines established by the Global Business Practices work group.
- These authorized individuals include: Global Business Practice Work Group members, PIDX staff, PIDX chairs, and other appointed individuals.
