Welcome to the PIDX Collaboration Site! This site serves several purposes, including the following:

  • it serves as a knowledge base for PIDX members and implementers
  • it contains the new, interactive PIDX Data Dictionary (PIDD)
  • it provides an open forum for input for PIDX members and implementers
  • it promotes collaboration among PIDX project teams

Questions, suggestions and comments concerning the PIDD may be submitted using the "Add a Comment" link via Data Dictionary.

[edit] Wiki access policies

The Petroleum Industry Data Dictionary is open to the industry. Modifications to the Data Dictionary may be submitted using the "Add a Comment" feature.

Guests (anonymous users)

  • Read-only access to PIDD
  • May submit comments and questions by sending an Email to Jana Schey.

Registered Users (logged in users)

  • "Add a Comment" privileges

[edit] Technology

The site is called a "wiki," which means that every page has an "Edit" link and a "Discussion" link so that the community of users can collaborate on the content.

NOTE: Editing privileges have been assigned to work group leadership for initial launch.

It uses the MediaWiki software, which is the same software used by Wikipedia.
